Government College of Physical Education, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, established in 1957, stands as a pioneering institution dedicated to the promotion of physical education, sportsmanship, and holistic development of youth in the state. What began modestly at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack, with a focused vision and limited resources, has grown steadily into a respected centre for professional training in physical education.

Over the decades, the institution has evolved in response to changing educational and societal needs. The introduction of women candidates and the expansion of academic programmes, including the B.P.Ed course, reflect our commitment to inclusivity, academic excellence, and higher professional standards in physical education.
